About Us
The NJ Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) at Rutgers-Camden is part of a statewide network that provides comprehensive consulting services and educational opportunities to Small Business owners and potential owners throughout the State of New Jersey. The NJSBDC at Rutgers-Camden serves Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem Counties, with several convenient training and counseling locations.
In addition to the services described here you can download documents and/or find small business links to gather valuable information that will help you start or grow your business.
Linking the resources of a variety of agencies contributes to the growth of the small business community in the State of New Jersey. These agencies include: The US Small Business Administration (SBA), the State of New Jersey , Rutgers Graduate School of Management (Newark) and other college-based centers throughout the State, and private sector. Through this combined effort, the small business community is able to promote the State’s economic development.
Meet the Regional Director at Rutgers University- Camden
Robert Palumbo, Regional Director
Robert Palumbo is a Voorhees, NJ resident with more than 40 years’ experience in Finance, Operations and Marketing. Mr. Palumbo holds a BA in Accounting from Rutgers University-Camden and an MBA in Finance from Philadelphia University. Mr. Palumbo was a part-time consultant with the NJSBDC for twelve years and the Assistant Director from May 2014 thru June 2015. Mr. Palumbo was named Director in July 2015 replacing Clarence Fullard who retired but still continues to provide his expertise as a part-time consultant. Mr. Palumbo brings a diverse background to the SBDC having worked in service, manufacturing and distribution sectors including small businesses and large corporations. As an entrepreneur Robert owned his own video production business for over ten years.
As Director of the SBDC, Mr. Palumbo manages the Camden SBDC operations, provides community outreach, council’s small business owners and oversees all SBDC training programs. He advises small business owners in the areas of business startup, business planning, business expansion, market planning, market research, loan proposals, record keeping, financial projections and financial analysis.
