About Us

The Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) at Stockton University is part of a national network of university- and college-based centers that provide expert business counseling and educational resources to small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.

By leveraging the support of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the New Jersey Department of Commerce and Economic Development, Rutgers Business School, and other public and private partners, the center plays a vital role in fostering business growth and economic development across Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland Counties.

Nearly all of our services are provided at no cost through funding from federal, state, and local grants, as well as other contributions from the private sector. All business counseling is delivered one-on-one and is completely confidential.

Meet the Regional Director at Stockton University

Mark Rizzo, Regional Director

Mark Rizzo is a passionate advocate for small business success and community development. As the Regional Director of the NJSBDC at Stockton University, he works closely with entrepreneurs and small business owners across Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland counties, helping them turn ideas into action and overcome challenges along the way.

With a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and years of experience in both higher education and business development, Mark brings a people-first approach to everything he does. He understands that every business has a story, and he’s committed to listening, advising, and finding creative solutions that help those stories grow.

Whether he’s guiding a startup through their first business plan or connecting a seasoned owner with resources to scale, Mark is known for being approachable, supportive, and genuinely invested in the success of each client.
