America’s SBDC New Jersey Names Former State Legislator and Gubernatorial Candidate to the New Jersey Small Business Development Centers Network Advisory Board

October 18, 2018  (Newark, NJ)  The Senior Leadership Team of America’s SBDC New Jersey officially announced that former Assemblyman John S. Wisniewski is a new member of the statewide Advisory Board of the NJSBDC network. Wisniewski, former Deputy Assembly Speaker and Chairman of the Assembly Transportation and Independent Authorities Committee, was a strong advocate of the program over the years. Wisniewski founded and operates his own law practice, Wisniewski & Associates, LLC.

 

“We welcome John to our state Advisory Board,” said Brenda Hopper, chief executive officer and state director of the NJSBDC network. “His business, legal, and legislative experience is well regarded and we look forward to his contributions to our Board.”

 

“John Wisniewski has been an avid supporter of the NJSBDC program for many years while he served in the New Jersey General Assembly,” added Deborah Smarth, NJSBDC network’s chief operating officer and associate state director. “His diverse insights and strong knowledge are recognized. We’re glad he is now serving as a member of our statewide Advisory Board.”

 

“The NJSBDC program offers invaluable services and assistance for small business owners and entrepreneurs around the state,” said John Wisniewski. “The economic impact of the program and the assistance provided for small businesses are important to economic growth and jobs. I look forward to my service on this Board.”

 

John Wisniewski served in the General Assembly for more than 22 years, holding various Leadership positions. He was a gubernatorial candidate in 2017.  Wisniewski received NJSBDC’s small business legislative advocate award in 2008. He has a J.D. from Seton Hall School of Law and a B.A. from Rutgers.

 

The nine-member board engages with America’s SBDC New Jersey Senior Leadership Team to provide insights, perspectives and know-how concerning organizational, operational, and business improvement processes, setting the standard for enhanced business services and assistance throughout New Jersey.
